Hello, I am Christopher Schmidt. I am a resident of the 21st Congressional District and I want to represent you in Washington. The politicians in Washington D.C. have ignored the will of the people and continue to regulate our lives. I understand the problems of Washington and I want to unleash Upstate New York from it's shackles.

I am a day laborer, student and a budding entrepreneur. I have been an activist for the past 15 years in Warren County, New York and have had successes and a positive impact in criminal justice reform, energy sustainability, and the equal representation of local citizens.  I am currently the temporary chairman of the Washington County Libertarian Party and co founded The Warren County chapter.

I understand that people of Upstate want more money in their pocket during the long, hard winter months. I understand that the tax system is complex and needs to be overhauled.

I understand that parents are working to pay for their monthly expenses while raising children,  and trying to achieve something better for themselves as well.

People shouldn't be forced to make a decision between their medication and their child's future and I want to make sure that those people are heard in Washington.

I will work with the Freedom caucus on issues that decentralize Washington's power so that YOU, the individual can decide for yourself and your family. I will also work within the current bi-partisan dead lock to form new coalitions and bridge the gap that Democrats and Republicans have held for so long. Elise Stefanik is an outsider ran by lobbyists in Washington and I am the freedom minded, grassroots choice to replace her in 2018.

I am a strong advocate for the Bill of Rights and the protection of the 2nd amendment continues to be a priority of mine. Common Core and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act are all signs of an over encroaching government and will not be supported if I am lucky enough to represent you.

I have a range of ideas that I will continue to offer, but the best asset I have to represent you is by you representing yourself. I want to be your voice and the more you dedicate to our Libertarian campaign the more your voice will be heard.
